Luis M. Viceira is the George E. Bates Professor and Senior Associate Dean for International Development at the Harvard Business School (HBS), where he has served since 1998, and co-chair of the CFA Institute Investment Management Program for asset managers at HBS. He also is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a fellow of the TIAA-CREF Institute in New York, and a member of the Scientific Council of NETSPAR. Viceira also serves as a public Governor of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
A financial economist, Viceira studies asset allocation models and household and international finance, with research published in the Journal of Finance, the American Economic Review, among others. He has received several awards recognizing his contributions to the theory and practice of asset management and is a member of the program committee of the Annual Meeting of the American Finance Association and many other organizations. He holds a bachelors[;p degree from the Universidad Autonoma in Madrid, and a M.A. degree and a Ph.D. degree from Harvard University.
