  • Served on the board of directors for the Association for Institutional Research and chaired the association's Higher Education Data Policy Committee.

  • Served as consulting editor for Community College Review and on the editorial review board of Innovative Higher Education.

As vice president and chief academic officer at St. Norbert College, Valerie Martin Conley oversees the institution’s instructional, academic and research programs. She previously served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Idaho State University, dean of the College of Education, University of Colorado (Colorado Springs), and chair of the Department of Counseling and Higher Education at Ohio University, where she taught courses on institutional research, assessment, management of higher education and policy.

A nationally recognized university administrator, higher education researcher, author and professor, Martin Conley has served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in sociology from the University of Virginia and Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
